Terms and conditions
Terms & Conditions
1. Driver Age Requirements
The minimum age to rent a vehicle from Nomad Car Rental is 20 years.
All drivers must have held a valid driving licence for at least one year.
Drivers must be under 75 years of age at the start of the rental.
Drivers aged 20–23 years must select the Young Driver option when making the reservation. A Young Driver fee of €10 per rental day applies.
For drivers aged 20–23 who select Full Insurance, the applicable excess is €300.
2. Required Documentation
The main driver and all additional drivers must present a valid physical driving licence and a valid ID card or passport at vehicle collection.
Driving licences issued by EU/EEA countries, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Australia are accepted.
Drivers holding licences issued in other countries must present an International Driving Permit together with their original driving licence.
If the required valid documentation cannot be provided, Nomad Car Rental reserves the right to refuse the rental.
3. Vehicle Category
Reservations are made for a vehicle category and not necessarily for a specific make, model, colour, engine type or equipment level.
The vehicle supplied may differ from the example shown on our website but will belong to the reserved category or, if necessary, a higher category.
A specific make or model is only guaranteed when explicitly confirmed in writing by Nomad Car Rental.
4. Rental Period
One rental day equals 24 hours from the agreed vehicle collection time.
A grace period of up to two hours may be allowed for a late return, provided that Nomad Car Rental has been informed in advance and has agreed to the delay.
If the vehicle is returned more than 120 minutes after the agreed return time without prior agreement, an additional rental day may be charged at the applicable daily rate.
No refund is provided for early vehicle returns, unused rental days or unused optional extras.
5. Insurance
Basic Insurance – €600 Excess
All Nomad Car Rental vehicles include Collision Damage Waiver insurance with an excess of €600.
For covered damage, the renter's financial responsibility is limited to a maximum of €600 per incident, provided that the rental agreement and these Terms & Conditions have been respected.
Full Insurance – €100 Excess
Optional Full Insurance is available for €3 per rental day and reduces the excess to €100 per incident.
For drivers aged 20–23, the excess under Full Insurance is €300.
Full Insurance does not cover:
• Damage to the underside or underbody of the vehicle
• Damage to the vehicle interior
• Vandalism
• Deliberate or reckless damage
• Damage resulting from misuse of the vehicle
• Damage resulting from a violation of the rental agreement
• Damage caused while the vehicle is being driven by an unauthorised driver
Theft of the vehicle is covered, provided that the rental terms and insurance conditions have been respected.
Nomad Car Rental does not charge loss-of-use fees for the period during which a damaged vehicle is being repaired. For covered damage, the renter's responsibility is limited to the applicable excess.
6. Additional Drivers
One additional driver is included free of charge.
A maximum of three drivers, including the main driver, may be registered on the rental agreement.
A third driver may be added for €3 per rental day.
Only drivers registered on the rental agreement are authorised to drive the vehicle.
If the vehicle is driven by an unauthorised person, insurance coverage may become invalid and the renter may be held fully responsible for any resulting damage or loss.
7. Mileage
Unlimited mileage is included with all standard Nomad Car Rental reservations.
8. Ferry Transportation
Taking the rental vehicle on a ferry is prohibited without prior written approval from Nomad Car Rental.
When written permission is granted, a one-time ferry fee of €60 applies.
Taking the vehicle on a ferry without prior written approval may invalidate the applicable insurance coverage.
9. Driving Outside Greece
Taking a Nomad Car Rental vehicle outside Greece is strictly prohibited under all circumstances.
Driving the vehicle outside Greece constitutes a serious violation of the rental agreement and may invalidate all insurance coverage.
10. Vehicle Condition & Return
The vehicle will be provided in safe and proper operating condition.
Nomad Car Rental may take photographs or videos of the vehicle at collection in order to document its condition.
Customers are also encouraged to inspect and photograph the vehicle at collection.
The renter must take reasonable care of the vehicle and use it in accordance with Greek traffic laws and these Terms & Conditions.
The vehicle must be returned in substantially the same condition in which it was received, allowing for normal wear and tear.
Excessive interior dirt, stains, sand, mud or other conditions requiring specialised cleaning may result in an interior cleaning charge of €40 plus VAT.
11. Accidents, Damage & Breakdown
In the event of an accident, damage or breakdown, the renter must contact Nomad Car Rental immediately using the provided support telephone number.
The renter must not leave the scene of an accident without first informing Nomad Car Rental, unless remaining at the scene would be unsafe or emergency services instruct otherwise.
Where another vehicle or person is involved, the renter should obtain, where possible:
• Vehicle registration number
• Driver details
• Photographs or videos of the vehicles and accident scene
• Witness details
If anyone is injured, the Police and/or emergency services must be contacted immediately.
The renter must cooperate with Nomad Car Rental and its insurance provider and provide all information reasonably required regarding the incident.
Failure to report an accident or damage promptly, or failure to follow the required procedure, may invalidate insurance coverage.
12. Traffic Violations & Fines
The renter is responsible for all traffic fines, parking fines, toll charges and other penalties incurred during the rental period.
If Nomad Car Rental receives notification of a violation after the rental has ended, the renter remains responsible for the applicable fine or charge.
13. Lost or Damaged Keys
The renter is responsible for the cost of replacing any vehicle key that is lost or damaged during the rental period.
The renter is also responsible for reasonable costs resulting from keys being locked inside the vehicle, including transportation of a spare key, roadside assistance or locksmith/technician costs.
14. Security Deposit & Payment
No security deposit is required for standard Nomad Car Rental reservations.
A credit card is not required to rent a vehicle.
Payment can be made by cash or card at vehicle collection.
The absence of a security deposit does not remove the renter's responsibility for amounts legitimately due under the rental agreement, including the applicable insurance excess, fines, lost keys, missing fuel or damage excluded from insurance coverage.
15. Cancellation Policy
No advance payment or booking deposit is required for standard reservations.
Reservations can be cancelled free of charge.
If your plans change, we kindly ask you to inform Nomad Car Rental as early as possible so that the vehicle can be made available to another customer.
16. Fuel Policy
The vehicle must be returned with approximately the same fuel level as at the time of collection.
If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, the renter may be charged for the missing fuel.
No refund is provided for additional fuel left in the vehicle.
17. Out-of-Hours Service
Vehicle collection or return between 22:00 and 08:00 is considered an out-of-hours service and is subject to an additional €20 fee.
If a customer's flight is delayed, Nomad Car Rental monitors the flight and will wait for the customer after landing.
If the originally scheduled arrival time was within normal operating hours, a flight delay will normally not result in an additional out-of-hours charge.
18. Prohibited Use
The rental vehicle must not be:
• Used for racing, speed testing or competitions
• Used for towing another vehicle without authorisation
• Driven off-road or on roads unsuitable for normal passenger vehicles
• Driven under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other substances affecting driving ability
• Used for illegal activities
• Driven by anyone not registered on the rental agreement
Serious violation of these conditions may invalidate insurance coverage and make the renter fully responsible for any resulting damage, loss or costs.
